Ford Taunus 17M P3 (1960)

The Ford Taunus 17M P3 is a compact car that was produced by Ford Germany from 1957 to 1960. The car was part of the Taunus model series and was offered in both two-door and four-door versions. The 17M P3 was the third generation of the Taunus model, hence the P3 designation.

The Taunus 17M P3 was powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produced 60 horsepower. The car had a top speed of around 90 mph and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 18 seconds. The engine was paired with a four-speed manual transmission.

The Taunus 17M P3 featured a modern design that was characterized by its large windows, which provided excellent visibility for the driver. The car also had a spacious interior that could comfortably seat up to four people. The car had a wheelbase of around 2.4 meters, which made it larger than its predecessor, the Taunus 15M P2.

The Taunus 17M P3 was well-equipped for its time, with features such as a heater and a radio available as options. The car also had a number of safety features, including a sturdy body structure and drum brakes on all four wheels. The car was available in a variety of colors, including red, blue, and white.

Despite its advanced features, the Taunus 17M P3 was not particularly successful in the market. It faced stiff competition from other compact cars of the time, such as the Volkswagen Beetle and the Opel Rekord. Production of the Taunus 17M P3 was halted in 1960, and it was replaced by the Taunus 12M P4. Nevertheless, the 17M P3 remains a popular classic car among enthusiasts today.
