BMW 503 Coupe (1956)

The BMW 503 Coupe is a luxury grand tourer car that was produced by the German automaker BMW from 1956 to 1959. The 503 was designed as a larger and more powerful alternative to the company's popular 507 roadster. The 503 was also the company's first V8-powered car and was considered a flagship model for the company at the time.

The 503 featured a sleek and stylish design, with a low and wide stance, a long hood and a short rear deck. The car was also known for its distinctive front grille, which featured the iconic BMW kidney grille. The 503 was also equipped with large, chrome-plated bumpers and elegant chrome accents.

The 503 was powered by a 3.2-liter V8 engine which produced around 100 horsepower. The car featured a four-speed manual transmission and was able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in around 12 seconds. The 503's top speed was around 110 mph. The car featured a rear-wheel drive layout and was considered a well-handling car for its time.

The 503 was also known for its luxurious interior, which featured high-quality materials such as leather and wood. The car was also equipped with many advanced features for its time, including power windows and a power-assisted steering. The 503's spacious cabin was designed to accommodate four passengers in comfort and luxury.

The BMW 503 was built in limited numbers, with only 404 coupes and 123 cabriolets produced. This, combined with its high price, made the 503 a rare and exclusive car. Despite this, the 503 was well received by the press and was praised for its style, performance, and luxury. However, due to the high production costs, it was not able to generate enough profit for the company and the model was discontinued in 1959.
